What is annual maintenance?

Maintenance is a thorough examination of the extinguisher and any necessary repair, recharging or replacement. All fire extinguisher maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the provisions of NSAI standard I.S 291:2015

Are any extinguishers discharged during annual maintenance?

I.S 291:2015 requires that at least one fifth of dry powder and carbon dioxide extinguishers , and at least one third of water and foam extinguishers undergo a discharge test and refill during annual maintenance. In addition to this, carbon dioxide extinguishers must be pressure tested after the first 10 years of manufacture and every 5 years thereafter.

What does it cost?

There is an Annual Attendance and Certification charge with all maintained fire extinguishers, each charged at the same price regardless of make or type. Refills and spare parts are priced separately. There are no hidden fees and no unbudgeted work will be carried out without prior notification and your approval, therefore this ensures that you are in control of your budget at all times.
